Taufik is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and the Director of Electric Power Institute at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, USA. He received his BS from Northern Arizona University, MS from University of Illinois at Chicago, and Doctor of Engineering from Cleveland State University, all in Electrical Engineering. Since joining Cal Poly he has received numerous teaching awards, most notably the 2012 Outstanding Teaching Award from the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) with expertise in power electronics, power systems, and renewable energy. He has work and consulting experience with several world-class companies. His current project is the DC House Project for rural electrification which has received supports from several partners in Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia.
